What to know about CO2 & cylinders
Proper Carbonation comes from the right amount of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) gas being mixed with water in a soft drink system.
A 20 pound CO2 cylinder is enough CO2 to supply (5) 5-gal Bag-In-Box or 19k finished ounces of soda.
A 50 pound CO2 cylinder is enough CO2 to supply (12) 5-gal Bag-In-Box or 45k finished ounces of soda.
A Bulk Tank system is similar in use to a CO2 cylinder system, but typically contains 200 to 400 pounds of liquid Carbon Dioxide and is under less pressure. The bulk tanks are typically filled by a CO2 supplier, which means tank changing is not necessary.
